L`ENCLUME - A GASTRONOMIC RESTAURANT IN CARTMEL the finest meal I have ever eaten. Chef Simon Rogan (a culinary wizard) creates exciting 8,12,19 and 23 course- "taste and texture" menus using locally sourced wild ingredients mixed with the more luxurious foods from the countries best suppliers. Blossoms, barks, wild herbs and grasses are involved in the construction of Simons dishes to create a very interesting and different eating experience. El-Bulli trip. Never happened .... ( wife wouldn`t fly) ...anyway I discovered L`enclume restaurant in Cartmel cumbria and sampled Chefs 20 course taste and texture menu. Surely food does n`t come any better than this
, i`ll save my cash and eat here from now on.
| Underscar Manor overlooking the picture postcard town of Keswick is home to one of lakelands finest foodie haunts. My friends Pauline and Derek Harrison along with their talented chef Robert Thornton have created a super nights entertainment around the subject of gourmet delights in surroundings so dreamlike it`s difficult leaving the place.On my recent visit,I can only liken the hotel and surroundings to one of those "top 50 places to go before you die" Expect to pay around £38 for the chefs "suprise" seven course dinner.(photo shows the finale to our chefs suprise, an assortment of underscar desserts) |
